Custom Henselite Bowls: Models, Colours and Ordering Guide

3 min read

Choosing custom bowls starts with how you play, then how you want your set to look. Wicklow's Henselite builder brings model, size, grip, colour and personalisation choices into one preview. This guide explains what to consider before committing to a made-to-order set.

Dreamline XG, Tiger II or Cruze?

Henselite describes Dreamline XG as an all-round model for varied green speeds, Cruze as a narrower option for faster Australian greens, and Tiger II as an option when conditions call for more turn. Tiger II has a steady draw and a gentle finish. Those differences are a starting point for a conversation, not a guarantee of how a particular bowler will perform.

Tell us which greens you normally play on, whether they are grass or synthetic, your usual position and the model you currently use. If you like your present line but struggle with the feel, changing size or grip may be more relevant than choosing a different model. If your conditions vary through the year, explain that too.

Get the fit right before choosing the finish

Your bowl should feel secure throughout your normal delivery without a strained grip. Compare neighbouring sizes where possible, and check the feel with the grip you intend to order. Size numbers alone cannot tell you whether a bowl feels right in your hand. A comfortable, repeatable release is more useful than simply choosing the largest size you can hold.

The builder lists the currently available sizes and grips. Ask Wicklow for help if you are changing brands, replacing a very old set or buying your first bowls. Bring the details of your current set so the conversation starts with a useful reference.

Create a design you can recognise on the green

Choose a colour finish, then compare the available ring and emblem paint colours. Contrast matters: an emblem that looks subtle on screen can be harder to pick out from a distance. Preview a few combinations before deciding. If you play with a club or team that uses similar bowls, consider a distinctive emblem or lettering.

A personal artwork option and optional outer-field lettering are available in the builder. Check every character before ordering and contact Wicklow about the artwork process. The visualiser is an illustration; the precise colour mix and engraving on the finished set may differ from the screen preview.

Understand the price and ordering steps

At publication, Wicklow's custom set of four starts at $664 in Black, including GST. Prism is $750, with other available finishes at $790 or $814. Personal artwork adds $121 and optional outer-field lettering adds $101. The live builder shows the price for your selected combination; delivery charges and pickup options are confirmed at checkout. Check the current builder price before placing your order.

Review the model, size, grip, finish, emblem and any text together. Continue to secure checkout only once those details are correct. Custom bowls are made to order: ask for the current production estimate if you need them for a particular event. Do not assume a made-to-order set will arrive on the same timeline as an in-stock product.
